Welcome New Board Members!

It is our pleasure to announce three new board members to our already-so-powerful Board of Directors. Three outstanding Jersey City women, Takesha Bartley, Jennifer Peoples, and Michelle Nandkumar, are ready to help WomenRising and Hudson County reach new heights. Please join us in welcoming these three amazing women to the WomenRising community!

Takesha Bartley

Takesha Bartley has lived in Hudson County for the past two years.  She has over ten years’ experience in Human Resource Management. Takesha is currently the Senior Human Resources Business partner at Federal Home Loan Bank of New York where she is responsible for managing strategic staffing efforts across all business units as well as developing succession plans for various departments.  Takesha has been looking to work with an organization dedicated to women’s rights and the economic advancement of women.   She has an extensive background in job preparation, literacy development, and employment and she wants to share her expertise with underprivileged women to level the playing field.   

Jennifer Peoples

Jennifer Peoples was born and raised in Jersey City and has strong ties to the community.  She has over twenty years’ experience as a CPA and she currently serves on the board of directors for the Hudson County Chapter of the New Jersey Society of CPAs.  She has been self-employed since April 2016.    As a mother of two young girls, Jennifer is committed to programs that promote women to be self- sufficient and to be empowered. She is involved in many volunteer initiatives in her community and is passionate about helping people in need.

Michelle Nandukumar

Michelle Nandkumar has been a Jersey City resident for the past 20 years.  She has been a real estate agent in the Jersey City office of Coldwell Banker for the past 6 years.  As a real estate agent, she fully appreciates the issues with housing and can understand the impact housing has on families financially and emotionally.  Michelle has also received her Masters of Public Administration from Saint Peters University in May of 2016.  Michelle is passionate about giving back to her community and has extensive volunteer and committee work experience. She sees helping women and children as her life's purpose.
