There is a public parking lot on Montgomery Street, just north of Fairmount, on the same side as Burger King, which is Montgomery and Bergen).
From Points North and South
New Jersey Turnpike to any of the following exits: 13A; 15E; 14C
After paying the toll, follow signs to Jersey City and/or Routes 1&9 North. When offered the option, take 1&9 Truck Route. As you approach Jersey City, you will crossover the Passaic River and then the Hackensack River. CONTINUE GOING STRAIGHT. At a major intersection, Routes 1&9 North will turn left and Route 440 will turn to the right. CONTINUE GOING STRAIGHT. You will now be on Communipaw Avenue.
Counting the traffic light at McDonalds as the first one, go straight to the fourth light, which is Bergen Avenue. Turn left onto Bergen Avenue.
Continue traveling along Bergen Avenue to the fourth traffic light, which is Fairmount Avenue. Turn right onto Fairmount Avenue. WomenRising is approximately 1/3 of the way down the block on the left.
New Jersey Turnpike to exit 14C
After paying the toll, exit the turnpike at Grand Street. Proceed straight to the first traffic light, which is Montgomery Street. Turn left onto Montgomery Street. Continue to the sixth traffic light, which is Bergen Avenue, where there will be a left turn lane. Turn left onto Bergen Avenue. The first traffic light is Fairmount Avenue. Turn left onto Fairmount Avenue. WomenRising is approximately 1/3 of the way down the block, on the left.
From Points West
Route 280 East, following signs to Jersey City, and then Routes 1& 9 South (toward Bayonne) to Communipaw Avenue. Turn left onto Communipaw Avenue (there is a left turn lane). Follow the directions above for Turnpike Exits 13A, 14 or 15E. (Here are some hints to help you find Communipaw Avenue when traveling in this direction. Communipaw will be the intersection after Duncan Avenue. At Communipaw, Routes 1& 9 South will bear to the right, and straight ahead will be Route 440).
OR
Route 78 East to Routes 1 & 9 South or to the NJ Turnpike extension. If you take the Turnpike, follow directions from Exit 14C.
OR
Route 80 East to NJ Turnpike. Follow any NJ Turnpike directions above.
From New York City
Take the George Washington Bridge to the New Jersey Turnpike and follow any of the turnpike options on page one.
OR
Take the Holland Tunnel. Upon exiting the tunnel make the first left turn onto Marin Boulevard. Proceed along Marin Boulevard to the fifth traffic light, which is Montgomery Street. Turn right onto Montgomery Street and proceed straight to the twelfth traffic light, which is Bergen Avenue. (There is a left turn lane at Bergen). Turn left onto Bergen Avenue. The first traffic light is Fairmount Avenue. Turn left onto Fairmount Avenue. WomenRising is approximately 1/3 of the way down the block on the left.
By Path Train
Take the Newark Path Train at 33rd Street to Journal Square. Get off the train at Journal Square. From Journal Square, you can take the Bergen Avenue bus to Fairmount Avenue, or you can walk South along Bergen Avenue, approximately 7 to 10 blocks to Fairmount Avenue. If you take the bus, get off at Fairmount Avenue and cross Bergen Avenue and continue along Fairmount. If you walk, turn left onto Fairmount. WomenRising will be on your left 1/3 of the way down the block.

Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 14A. After paying toll, stay straight onto Avenue E. Travel along Avenue E to 33rd Street. Turn right onto 33rd Street. Cross over one traffic light (Broadway). Proceed to Avenue C our Children Learning Center is on the right corner of 33rd Street and Avenue C in First Federated Church.
